The 1950s building consists of 12 units nestled in 3 interconnected shophouses where the arts and culture can be found under one roof in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. You can find OUR Arts Project Gallery on the ground floor, where it showcases a selection of works by local brands. After you’re done browsing through the good stuff, you can chill and relax at Tommy le Baker located on the same floor. The bakery cum café is quite popular among café hoppers. Book lovers out there, Tintabudi is located on the first floor where it has a compilation of rarest and vintage books that you hardly find anywhere. I was attracted to its vintage cupboard where the books are kept safely. It gives you some sort of sentimental feeling. This may not be my thing, but to punk and rock fans, Tandang Store might be your cup of tea. There’s more than just vinyl, cassettes and CDs here, you’ll find zines, books and other punk-related merchandise. Moving on, another underground bookstore that you can find here is Balai Buku Raya. You might think that you’re in a small quiet library rather than a bookstore.
The Zhongshan Building is indeed a unique place that I’ve visited so far.
