KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 — From fancy cafes, cosy boutiques to swanky supermarkets, Bangsar has it all and the Bank Rakyat-Bangsar LRT station is the stop you’d want to make to access one of the most popular residential areas cum business hubs in the city.
Here are some quick facts about it:

  • The Bank Rakyat-Bangsar LRT is located along Jalan Bangsar and as this station sees Prasarana’s partnership with Bank Rakyat, the latter’s presence is evident in the form of an ATM, cash deposit machine and electronic banking services.

  • Due to the popular locale, there are various amenities including lifts, a surau, washrooms, various other bank ATMs, food kiosks and a convenience store.

  • Historically speaking, Bangsar got its name from a rubber estate named after two European pioneers, Edouard Bunge and Alfred Grisar in the early 20th century. In 1969, the Bungsar Estate became the first area to be developed for housing.

    • The station is one stop away from KL Sentral, the transit hub that supports six rail networks ― the KLIA Express Rail Link, KLIA Transit, LRT Kelana Jaya Line, KTM Komuter, KTM Intercity and KL Monorail Services.

    • The feeder bus to Mid Valley Shopping Centre stops opposite Menara UOA.

    • The station is also located close to the offices of the country’s oldest newspaper ― New Straits Times and the China Press.
