Restoran Maggi Ketam Power. This Puchong establishment is located deep in the kampung of Batu 13. They serve all kinds of special Maggi dishes like Maggi Gearbox Lembu/Kambing, Maggi Urat Kerting, Maggi Udang Galah and of course Maggi Ketam Power. I got the Maggi Ketam Power with added udang galah (giant freshwater prawns) and it came in a huge bowl with the crab and prawns proudly displayed on top. As you can imagine, the soup isn’t made solely from the sachets that come with the Maggi noodles. So many other ingredients go into it that it’s practically a new dish. I loved the soup so much that I drank all of it!
Restoran Rawang Burger Bakar. The Kuey Teow Ketam here is simply delicious! Lots of spices are used to fry the kuey teow, making the taste extra strong. A side of home-made sambal is served with the kuey teow, which further elevates the already flavourful dish. It’s served with a whole flower crab so you’ll have fun digging through the shell for meat after you’ve finished your kuey teow.
Mee Ketam Kuala Lumpur. Arguably the most famous crab noodle place in town, it does an awesome Mee Kari Ketam that comes with a whole flower crab. You can also swap it with a mud crab if you want (charged by weight). The thick yellow egg noodles go well with the crab and you can tell the curry is made with love, as you can taste the roe and random crab bits in it. They also cook their crabs with rice and if that’s more your cup of tea, I highly recommend the Ketam Masak Cili. The chilli sauce is fiery, but really tasty. It’s one of the best crab dishes I’ve ever had!
