Services were disrupted between 6.35am and 8.38am between KLCC and Kelana Jaya stations due to failure to one of its Vehicle Control Centre (VCC) signaling component; which in turn caused loss in the automatic train controller that is managed centrally at the vehicle control centre computer room at Operation Control Centre (OCC) in Subang depot.

“Due to this, the trains in the affected zone needed to be driven manually. Hence, the slower movement of the trains and the longer waiting period at stations to ensure safety for the passengers,” LRT Kelana Jaya Line Chief Operating Officer (COO) Haji Ismail Abdullah told a press conference at Subang depot here today.

The movement of 19 trains were affected by the failure by one of its for VCCs, which was brought about by the failure of the power supply unit.

In managing the crowd, shuttle buses from Rapid Bus were deployed. Announcements were made at stations and Rapid KL media channels to advise passengers to take alternative mode of transportation.

The LRT Kelana Jaya Line returned normalcy at 9.20am.
